One of my first projects working at Rocking Vibe was to create a page for the 12 Days of Crystals campaign. Each day, a new, rare, and limited piece of jewelry would be released for the holidays, and we needed a way to showcase this with a holiday theme. Since I was the sole designer for the company, I had a lot of work to do, but also quite a bit of freedom.

For the home page of Rocking Vibe, we needed to get people excited for the 12 days, so I created a video for the Rocking Vibe home page that was a sneak peek of macro shots of the crystals.

For the actual 12 Days of Crystals page, we wanted to do something similar to an advent calendar, since it is something that is quite nostalgic for most people.

It wasn't hard for me to come up with a design that worked, and once I started, I just ran with it. Since I was fairly new to the company and brand, I had created a few different versions with different colours and layouts. Since the brand's main colours are white and gold, I decided that we needed to add in another colour that worked with the holiday theme. Especially if we wanted this campaign to stand out from everything else, I went with a nice blue that fit with the gold. I associate winter and the holidays with blue, so I figured it would be a good choice.

At the top of the page, we had the featured piece with its description. Under that we put the advent calendar. The days that had already been revealed would show the piece that could be clicked on for customers to visit the product page. The "featured" product was highlighted in gold, and days that had not been revealed yet were greyed out and blurred so customers could not see what was coming. On hover, the revealed days showed a high quality product shot, and the hidden days showed a "Coming Soon" message where people could sign up to get reminders of reveals.

The final product was a huge success, and we got lots of attraction to not only these pieces, but all our other products as well. It was definitely a big sales booster, and a very fun project to work on as well!
